Hope is in Jesus
Hope is nothing more than a sentiment if it is not based on truth. A potential cure can be great hope to a dying man. But hope itself cannot save the man. The cure must be effective and true.
We worship Jesus because he has given us a true and certain hope. He is truly God, and we are truly sinners. His sacrifice on the cross paid for our crimes against him. His goodness bought our righteousness.
This is true hope—to be forgiven of our sin, given the righteousness of Jesus, and reconciled to God.
But, while this hope is true and real, most people will never see it. They are too busy chasing temporary fleeting hopes. We run from God to look for hope in money, relationships, and success. We run to entertainment, alcohol, or sex to find an escape from the pain of this world.
But, there is true hope! Please click here to find out more about hope in Jesus!
God is life, and he designed life. He knows how life and relationships work best because he made them both! By his grace, he spoke to us through Scripture. Through Scripture we can find hope and guidance for our daily lives.

Calvary Biblical Counseling Ministry
If you would like more formal counseling, we have a Biblical Counseling Center directed by Pastor Doug Messerall, Certified Biblical Counselor. Please visit the counseling center’s website for more information or contact the counseling center.
The word “charis” means “grace.” The Charis Cupboard exists to share the love and grace of Jesus Christ with our community.
Charis Cupboard seeks to meet physical needs in the Meadville community. Many churches and organizations in Meadville assist those in need with food and shelter. Calvary wanted to help the community in an area where no assistance is currently available.
On the first Saturday of each month, residents of Meadville can receive a paper bag full of paper products, detergents, and personal hygiene items. The bags are assembled and distributed by volunteers from Calvary Baptist Church.
Charis Cupboard ministers out of The Grace Place:
The Grace Place
779 North Main Street
Meadville, PA 16335
Charis Cupboard is open the first Saturday of every month from 10-11 am.
To receive assistance, please bring an ID or utility bill to confirm residence in Meadville.
Through the sacrificial giving of our people, Calvary is able to help those in need in the community. If you are in need or know of someone in need, please contact the church office. Call us at (814) 724-8099, or visit us at 543 Randolph St. You will be asked to fill out an application for help.
